Surgery Tomorrow, Any Tips
« on: July 17, 2019, 10:00:55 am »
Having my AN removed tomorrow via retrosigmoid.  Mine is on the medium/smaller side so the docs say there's a pretty high chance at preserving (some) hearing and unlikely (<5%) facial issues but they wanted to get it now because if it got much bigger those odds would decrease exponentially. But since it appears that there is no balance involvement yet, they say I may have a longer than normal stay in the hospital until my balance recalibrates a bit.  That being said, any tips/suggestions that people wished they'd known before their hospital stay? Things they wished they'd brought, etc.?  Just curious.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I hope it goes well. I had surgery at the beginning of July. The biggest thing I did wrong was rushing it with getting back up and moving around. I ended up unable to do much of anything for several days. Go easy on yourself and take the time you need. Hope alll went well.
