Lower eyelid surgery ?
« on: December 23, 2006, 02:37:46 am »
I am now booked to have the (small) lower eyelid surgery
where they slightly lift the lower eyelid at the ( inner) nose end
This reduces the area   exposed to draft where the eye does not quite
shut properly - and improves the fluid holding area for the gel tears
It will be a day case - but with a general - my duck and weave reactions
are now  so good I doubt a pint of valium would switch them off !
(Sugar Ray Leoard eat your heart out)
So two questions ?
anyone else had this OP ? and
I am not going for the eye weight as well - I hope this alone
will tidy things up enough
did anyone have to go back a second time to do this as well ?
Best Regards
Tony

Hi Tony:

I had the lateral tarsal strip to the lower lid - don't know if it's the same,

but,  having the eye surgery was the best thing I could have done,
before it my eye burned so bad;  it also helped my eye look more 'normal'.

I'm sure you will be glad you did it too !!!

Best wishes, Nancy

Tony, I had eye surgery but it was the other side of the eye. The doctor put about two stitches closing the eye to protect it from the elements. My left eye was burning and very sore. Now it feels great. Still can't close or tear.

Hi Tony,

I had the opposite side of my eye lifted along with a couple of stitches on the outside corner to make it smaller.  I'm happy that I did it.  My eye looks better now.  I still can't blink or make tears though.  Can't say that it bothered me at all before since I have no feeling in that eye.  That's another reason my eye doctor encouraged me to do it.
Best of luck to you.

Jean, I was also encourage with what my doctor did. Left side face still paralyzed. I am only 3months post-op and waiting for left to do something. Before I even get out of bed in the morning I try to whistle and if I can't I know nothing has gotten any better.

Let us know how it goes Tony. I can't decide which one to do. Not really wanting the gold weight either.  :)
