new symptom
« on: March 11, 2007, 01:04:07 pm »
Now that the pollen is out, I've been sneezing occasionally.  Not sure if that is the cause, but for 2 days now I've developed ear pressure with intermittent mild pain (no cold or sinus symptoms).  Just enough to be irritating and worrisome.  When I was diagnosed, the physician told me that diuretics or steroids could be utilized if needed.  So far, Ibuprofen hasn't helped.  I have found that wearing a foam ear plug in the affected ear at least makes it feel somewhat better.  Has anyone had this occur?

Sorry to hear of your troubles
Very small AN - but even so get it checked - increased sinus reactions
just might be due to a local pressure build up
Unlikely ( 1% ??) - but better safe than sorry
best regards
Tony

YES I do.  I started getting a twitch in my L lower eyelid. Along with this, I get what I describe as a deep sinus pain, but no congestion and lots of sneezing.  Who knows, this is all new to me..
It's making me crazy!

going batty did they give you any steriods?  I apologize but your name is new to me so I don't know your story.  First rule ear pressure or tinnitus presentation is steriod treatment (usually it's a medrol pak) to help minimize any inflammation if possible.  That migh toffer you some relief.  No, I'm not a doctor just went that route and know some others from on here who was given the same thing.  Just wondered if you had been given any.

All my best to you,
Michelle

Thankfully, Ibuprofen worked on this.  My ENT told me about steroids or possibly a diuretic for increased symptoms.  Naturally, I'm hoping to avoid either.  Several days ago, I was just walking through the house and the AN side stopped up for no reason.  It lasted about an hour and resolved on its own.  I'm trying to not get paranoid over every little possible symptom but it does leave one wondering has the tumor grown or in general what's going on in there.  I'm just thankful I came across this forum.  I have learned so much from everyone.

Hi. I was just diagnosed with a small AN in February. I have had the same symptoms as you for the last 3 days, plus a bit of vertigo when I lie flat. I took a decongestant and that seemed to work for a while but the pressure did come back again. So, I can't really help as to what is the cause of the problem but to let you know that someone else is going through the same thing.
8 mm right AN
Diagnosed 2/2007
