Ceecee,

I am having surgery next week, on Wednesday. Thank you so much for your concern! I have not posted lately because my nesting instinct went into overdrive and I have to have my house and garden in immaculate condition before we fly out on Monday! It also keeps me busy and takes my mind off the upcoming surgery. I am really glad you are feeling better. Way to go!

I will post all the info about the pre-op. By the way, I went off Gingko Biloba and on day nine my tinnutis returned. It is a high-pitched sound and sometimes I don't even know which ear it is coming from. I asready forgot what it is like. Now I am intolerant of large crowds and tire much easier. When I am tired, my balance is off. Can't wait to be on Gingko again.  Take care and feel better every day!

Right side AN (6x3x3 cm) removed in 1988 by Drs. Benjamin & Cohen at NYU (16 hrs); nerves involved III - XII.
Regrowth at the brainstem 2.5 cm removed by Dr.Shahinian in 4 hrs at SBI (hopefully, this time forever); nerves involved IV - X with VIII missing. No facial or swallowing issues.

Hi Eve,
I'll be praying for you.  I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and I am feeling so much better.  My post surgery things to overcome ( balance etc) are getting better every day- except that I did loose my hearing in my AN ear .  I walked for over a mile today  which I would not have believed I could do at this stage (ok so I did take a 2 hour nap after  :D ).  I started out walking 1/2 a block at first .  It is amazing how the human body recovers.

I  have not heard about Ginko Biloba helping with tinnitus.  How much do you take -  I would love to have this constant sound in my ear go away.
Thanks,
Margaret

Interesting comment on the gingko. how long do you have to stay off after surgery?
If I thought a supplement would take this sound away I'd buy two! or four since it is in both ears   ;D
Good luck on your surgery.
I did the nesting house thing too...of course I was on a decadron high too which helped. The energizer bunny isn't on batteries he's secretly on decadron!

Hi Eve hope all is well for you.
Big sister is driving me to Las Vegas this PM for our trip back to Wash. St. on Tuesday.  I'm feeling stronger a little each day.  Still trying to take baby steps.   Stitches out at noon by Brachmann today, appt. with Dr. Roberts(eyes) at 8:15 this am, and final check out with the Internist, Dr. Stephan at 1pm.  I'm exited!  Take care and best wishes!   Neal
