posting a photo on this forum--help!
« on: August 21, 2007, 11:29:51 pm »
Hi,

How in the heck do you post a photo? In creating my profile, I put a checkmark for "I have my own photo" and also put the URL address for the website that my photo is on. It didn't upload, probably because at that time there was some technical difficulties at the URL that it is on (Psychology Today).  Well, that was months ago, and I have gone in a few times to try to update my profile. But since the correct url is up, there is nothing to change. Do any of you with photos posted have any words of wisdom on this?

Thanks,
Kate

Hi Kate,

The same thing happened to me.  Except that my photo did post for about 3 weeks, and then suddenly disappeared never to return again.  ???   When I tried to redo it, it wouldn't work.  And I've gotten no help from the person who handles the site logistics.   I do believe it might be an inherent flaw with this site and I wish they'd just figure out how to allow us to download a photo from our own files.

Good luck... and let me know if you figure it out.

Hey Bruce

Thanks for that info!  I did exactly what you said and it worked.  Hooray!  I had tried, and tried, to do that before with no success.  Thanks for taking the time to explain the steps.

Hope you have a great day!

Thanks, Bruce.  I did the same thing and it worked.  I had to copy and paste it myself because the direct link button wasn't working.  But it is really easy.  Thanks again.

brucifer,

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I tried the method of using the longer URL for just the photo portion of the website. Nothing happened.

I will try again tommorrow, and then try the other method of using the photo bucket. I have never heard of photo bucket before. Do you know, if once the account is set up with a photo, it can then be used to submit the picture to any forum that accepts photos?

Some time ago, someone posted some info about using something called Photo Bucket. But now I can't find it. Does anyone have that information, or any other info on how to get my photo up?

Thanks,
Kate

I switched from the frappr site to photobucket and boy is it easy! If you want to post a photo of yourself that will appear every time you post, just make sure it's cropped square or it will be a little distorted. Or crop it a little vertically and lose 10 pounds!
