Hi grandma.

I'm sorry to hear you are enduring such a terrible time. It doesn't sound like an acoustic neuroma based on the info you have shared. There is information available online noting what you have shared.  Consultation with your dr's is truly the best to do as they are trained professionals that can determine best way to treat you.  Many here may share similar symptoms (or diagnosis) and I am sending wishes for wellness to you.

Hang in there,

Dear Grandma -

Have they ruled out angina?  Women get heart-related pains that are not typical of most heart attacks.  I have prinzmetal angina, which is difficult to diagnosis and only occurs in women (I was told by my Cardiologist).  My pain is usually in the middle of my back, but it can also occur in the jaw.  It is being treated with 2 nitroglycerin tablets per day, which has helped greatly in my case.

You might want to check with your GP and get an EKG.

Just a thought.

You might try a headache or pain clinic as a place to start. They see all kinds of head pain. Do you live near a medical center or university hospital? They usually have pain centers there.
