Very dumb question today.  I'd like to share a photo of me with you all on my profile.  But it didn't work.  Since I am cyber-technically challenged, can anyone explain this in real real simple terms.  I'm used to using a browser to search for pics but there doesn't seem to be the option.  This will be my weekend task.
Have a great weekend and thanks.

I use www.photobucket.com to download my pictures from my pc (the one's that I wish to share) - Photobucket it free ......  from there you can copy the URL to your profile ..... I know you can also use My SPace and Face Book - but I find photobucket the easiest and most user friendly.

- if you wish to post a pic in a forum ... simply click on (in photobucket) the IMG code window - this will auto. copy the image .... come back to the forum window where you wish to post your image and right click your mouse to paste your image ... you should have code that looks something like this ......
[IMG]http://i22.photobucket.com/blahblahblahblahblah[IMG]

Of course, once close your post - you should then see your image.

Good luck!

;)  And it's a great piccie of you as well. :)

Hi David and all,

Yes, correct... you need to have the pic posted on a website, such as MySpace, Photobucket, Frappr, etc.... then follow these steps:

Look at the pic posted on whichever website you posted.  Hold your mouse over it and right click the mouse. The properties for the pic should show up.  Highlight the entire link in the properties (make sure it shows:  www.yourchosenwebsite.com/xxxxxxxx) and do "copy" command

Then, go to your profile here, the part (noted in left margin) for forum profile info

when that window shows, on the top, it gives you an option to "I have my own pic"... in that field, do a "paste" option...

Now, after you do that, scroll down to the bottom to "save changes"

If anyone has issues trying this out (ie: it doesn't work), just let me know :)

I know I can do it, I just have to find the time to figure it out -- it always takes me a while.  I am VERY proud of the things I have done on my blog!!

FYI, since the distortion thing comes up pretty often, the picture will be squished to a size of 75 x 75 - or a square, anyway. If you clip your photo to a square to start with, it won't get distorted.

Thought it might have been Hyannis "hahbah" in the background - like your new picture.
