glad the MRI is done. Now the wait, have you made a follow up appt, if so let us know the outcome, fingers crossed. If not, make one as soon as you can, as you know it takes a long time to get in with the specialist.

Thank-you so much everyone for all these helpful and welcoming comments. They gave me such reassurance before the MRI, which is now over. I was told categorically that no contrast needed as the scanner is a new one and so not necessary. It was all over in ten or so minutes so now I just have to wait for the results.  Judging from all of your comments it may not be as simple as all that but I will wait to see what happens. By the way I am in Somerset. It does all sound very random re the contrast requirement from what you all say.

Hi, I opted out of the contrast each time for about 3 yrs while doing the watch & wait but just previous to CK, 4 months ago, they insisted on it, saying it was a high resolution, different protocol scan, that time,  however there was no contrast for the CAT which I got the same day. They also did the blood test just before. The entire process including CK was actually uneventful so don't stress out about it; you'll be fine.

Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry I have not come back here before to let you know how I got on after the MRI. I have been rather preoccupied with my husband's health as he has been diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurysm and it has been quite a shock to us both. Now looking for support groups for AAA! Not a good year! Anyway this is just to say that I am in the clear and no sign of an acoustic neuroma. I will just need to get used to having a hearing aid.
Thank-you so very much for being here and especially to those of you who were so supportive to me. Although of course I am relieve not to have the AN in some ways I am sorry not to be able to join in with your wonderful group.

Every once in a while God grants a prayer if you pray hard enough! Hope your husband gets some relief for his Abdominal Aortic Aneurism. Prayers will be focused on him now. Stop by every once in a while to let us know how he's doing?
