3rd MRI tomorrow
« on: September 16, 2008, 12:48:26 pm »
You gotta have a plan! Waiting and Watching right now is my form of treatment.. Healthy lifestyle, Listening to everybody around, trying to be helpful, keeping up with the latest, trying alternate theropies, etc. I`m also 60 this month and figure god knows how long I`ve really had this. Maybe with a little luck it`s met it maturation and stays the same. Wishful thinking I guess but my plan is any growth to act immediately with another form of treatment. Here`s hoping all remains "stable" 1.2 x .06 and at the same time putting this out there as another viable attempt at treatment for all those with AN. My best to all, Mickey

Mickey:

Wishful thinking is permitted...it may even work!  That being the case, I hope you're right and your AN has ceased growing.

Observation ('Watch-and-Wait') is a viable option for some AN patients but your decision to act immediately if growth is evident is also wise.  I join you in hoping your MRI shows your AN has remained stable.  Please let us know.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Newbie.
One cm. AN.
First appointment with NS last week... his prognosis and treatment: no surgery required.
MRI every 6 months and if no growth, see you 6 mos. later, etc. etc.
My original symptoms re: dizzy seem to have disappeared but,
perhaps rather, I have adapted to my new lifestyle.
Any and all comments appreciated.

My apologies, did not mentioin: Dr. advised if tumour did grow, one of the radio surgery treatments available would be offered.

Thanks, Di

Thanks all!  I`m going this morning and should have results within a week I guess!   I`m just trying to play the cards the way they are dealt to me and hoping I have a PAT hand. God Bless, Mickey

Sounds like a good plan to me. I hope you just have more MRIs and more etcs. for years to come!

Hi everyone!  I just got my results of my 3rd MRI. They are "stable" going back to the first one in AUG. 07. I guess this is good news. Now I will see my Dr`s and see what they have to say.  As of right now I`m staying the course. As I mentioned before I`ve had symptoms for many years before diognosed and now turning 60 in a coupe of days, my hope is maybe my little friend has grown to its full capacity.  Waiting and Watching and  thanking you all, wishing everyone the best, Mickey

Hi, Mickey:

That is great news!  I trust your doctors will confirm the 'stability' of the AN and your hypothesis of it having reached it's full growth potential.  Sometimes, 'Watch-and-Wait' turns out to mean the waiting is permanent.  I pray this is true in your case.

We now await your doctor's assessment, right along with you.

Hi Mickey - good news for you!!  I've been waiting and watching for almost seven years.  When is your b'day?  Mine is in a few days too (9/26).
Take care,
Sheryl

Hi Sheryl! We have a few things in common. Our birthday and an AN also waiting and watching. If you can let me know how your doing for the seven years. Such things like any changes in symptoms or size and lifestyle. Please keep in touch. Also wanted to thank JIM for his nice comments. Hoping everything is well with all. Mickey
