FLOATERS?  I have them sometimes, but that usually means a migraine headache is on its way.  What kind of floaters are you guys talking about?  Hopefully floaters have no connection with ANs.

I agree with location, location, location.  My tumor was not small but it was not in the auditory canal.  I wasn't hearing much after surgery except for tinnitus, but in the weeks since, my hearing has improved a great deal and the tinnitus has become less annoying.  Right now the crickets in my head are in perfect unison with the crickets outside, so I'm good to go.  After my hearing test on October 7, I'll report back.  I'm predicting a 15-20% loss of some sort.  It's definitely different in that ear but I have compensated for it.  I do say "pardon me could you repeat that" a lot right now....
