Fluid in ear - how long before it's gone?
« on: October 04, 2008, 04:29:02 pm »
I'm 6 weeks post op and still have fluid in my ear, which affects my hearing, of course. At my 4 week check up they said yes, you still do have fluid and once that is gone your hearing will be as good as it was before the surgery (I had another hearing test).

I forgot to ask them how long it normally takes for the fluid to go away. (I had a mid fossa). Does anyone have any idea or experience with this?

Hi,
I had the same thing--it went away very gradually and was nearly gone at around 8 weeks. Hope yours does the same.

Indeed it is hard to keep track of all the weird things going on.  I feel like a  walking science experiment, but I'm still hoping most things resolve in their own time.

Yes, the fluid is in my AN ear. I will be glad when it's gone, but I'm getting used to it, too.  :-\
