Typing on an iPad which is a challenge ...
Had my 3 year MRI this week and tremendously happy to announce no growth! I moved about a year ago so went to a new facility and a new ENT.
the ent requested Gadolium (my first experience!). I got my cd when I walked out the door at 10pm (how awesome is that!). I rushed home and reviewed the CD like a kid in a candy shop and quickly concluded no change in my non-professional opinion. I have to admit I had expected the gadolinium to create a beacon of light on my MRI - however the non enhanced MRIs from Toronto were equally easy to see the little bugger. (Of note, The ent did mention something about a higher spin rate on certain test orders that give more detail but that gadolinium gives a similar result in less time ... So the debate on why some doctors order it and some don''t may come back to the machines.).
I met the net yesterday and he agreed with my view of no growth. I like the new ent - very experience doctor who is exceptionally pragmatic (a characteristics I truly admire). The tumor remains mall, completely within the iac and Iremain asymptomatic except for hearing loss (pure tone average of 30db ... But abysmal at the higher frequency which explains my inability to hear the washer or dishwasher alarms)
I got great comfort that doctors i. My small center are more than capable of treating the small & boring rumors like this o e should it decided to show a growth pattern. (He did indicate he would seek specialists outside of Calgary should it become dangerously large ... Which I know with appropriate monitoring is practically impossible!)
So, after three years I have no growth and no measurable change in hearing. I continue the W&W. I remain confident that I could make 10+ years without treatment.
Tremendously happy ... Mainly type all this info to provide others In The W&W ongoing success stories of small asymptomatic tumors!
All the best
