6 month post-GK MRI
« on: October 10, 2008, 02:15:53 pm »
Hey everyone,

I am just back from my MRI scan and finished looking at the CD. Of course I should wait for the formal doctors' opinion for an accurate assessment ( I have an appointment at the GK centre in two weeks), but I am quite happy from what I see  :). There is no change in size or shape as far as I can tell, and I am pretty positive I can see darkening at the centre.

Really the best MRI result that I could ask for a good Canadian thanksgiving weekend!

Marianna
GK on April 23rd 2008 for 2.9 cm AN at Toronto Western Hospital. Subsequent MRIs showed darkening initially, then growth. Retrosigmoid surgery on April 26th, 2011 with Drs. Akagami and Westerberg at Vancouver General Hospital. Graduallly lost hearing after GK and now SSD but no other issues.

How very boring, dull, and wonderful!  8)

No change in size or shape is the main thing; darkening from necrosis is just gravy. Sounds like you are on track for a great outcome.

Congratulations, and enjoy your holiday.

8 mm left AN June 2007,  CK at Stanford Sept 2007.
Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.

Thank you.

Tumbleweed, I wish your MRI will come out good as well. It should be coming close, right? If I remember well you are only a few weeks behind me. I also wish you find some relief to your balance problems.

Thanks, Marianna! I'm scheduled for followup MRI and audiogram in mid-December.

My worsened-balance issues cause more mental worry than anything else. Yeah, they're uncomfortable, but they're not severe and they only happen occasionally. I can live with it. I just hope this pimple inside my head dies!  ;D

Best wishes,
Tumbleweed
