Oh my Gosh!!!
« on: November 18, 2008, 07:49:00 pm »
I went to my primary care physician today for the first time in almost a year. All of my reports from Cyberknife and the Emergency room when I had my last fall were sent to her as my primary card doc. I had a CT of my neck done when I fell in June at the emergency room and they told me that I had a pinced nerve... so I have been up and down with that along with the CK aftermath. My primary care doc asked me if I have been having problems with my neck. I said yes because I have and have also been trying to decipher what is from the pinched nerve and what is post-ck stuff. She said "The CT shows that you have a bulging disc and vertibrae at C5-C6 and it is quit a significant injury." I was so upset that the emergency doc didn't tell me the specifics back in June.= She said that I could of been having injections to help shrink the bulge. And that this neck injury can also be exasterbating the vertigo/dizziness. I have fallen several times in my life, but this last one was a doozy.. so she thinks that I have had the injury for awhile and that this last fall just put it over the edge. I just cried. The surgery she said for this kind of injury is relatively dangerous. I have had a herniation in my lower back for years and did injections and therapy that has taken care of most of the problem. I am just so frustrated right now... sorry to dump on all of you.... I just want to be able to get a handle on this!!!!! I am praying that my CK works for me because I am not sure that my neck could take the abuse that happens with the surgery.

Sher, you vent all you want, girl!  That's what this place is here for.  Well, one of the reasons anyway!   I'm sorry you have this problem and I hope everything goes well for you and that you recover from this quickly.

My heart goes out to you,

Sher:

I'm so sorry to learn of this development.  My wife has undergone similar neck and spine surgery and did well.  However, the recovery is similar to AN surgery - lengthy.

I certainly hope you never feel it necessary to apologize for venting here.  You have a lot to deal with and it can be overwhelming at times.  We understand that.

I wish you better days and please know that you'll be in the prayers of many, including me.  :)

Jim

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Sher,

I am sending you a huge hug!!! I think we all have a good place to vent here. It is hard to be upbeat when even more is added to the plate, but you will get back on your horse.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm sorry, Sher, that you have to deal with this.  Don't apologize for venting; if you do, then I'll have to, and so on...
Hope things get sorted out.

Hi Sher,

It just occured to me, with both of us imbalanced and dizzy, if we could be give each other a big hug we would be much more stable with FOUR legs.  ;D
