a trip to the doctor
« on: May 15, 2009, 11:35:57 am »
Ck was in mid January.

fatique for about 5 weeks then started to taper away relatively quickly.   then stiff neck and a few headaches.  then i had the feelign that i was much better.  a few headaches, a few days of stiff neck ... fatigue - may i say htat i am 90% back at least.

then last week ---- headaches on AN side to top of head.  muffled sounds, "ear ache", a few times a day, sharp or burning feeling from just behind th ear going into head, ringing in ears turned up volume for first time.   called ck dr and was passed to neurosurgeon.

PA came into romm and asked about all issues.  sweet young lady .. she made note after note.  asked about ck and everything.   only second time to this office.

dr han came in after readign her notes and reviewing the mri taht ck ordered in March--- just said that the Ck beats the surgery and comapred the trama of surgery to CK.  said all was normal for CK.  he said march mri shouwed no growth, no bleeding, or brain stem injury ... was glad that most of the sympthoms have cleared.  he said that  teh tumor is still there to press on nerves oand other tissue ----  so i may have some issues over time.  he said that he would like ot do another mri in November.  my wife chatted ...  about Kansas ....   as i he was trying to get out of the door, i asked about a script of some pain pills ---- sure. an assistant brought in script and we left ...

simple and straight to the point ...  i like that

just to let you know that life continues tog et better - but tah tthere may be some bumps in teh road ...  still glad that i went CK ...  the little Bast*^%$rd is not winning.

i hope that all finds you well

Hi Carter and happy 5 mos as a Postie Toastie :)  Based on what you are sharing, sounds about right for AN'ers and CK (and most radio treatments). Sending wishes for continued wellness.....  onward and upward!  For the fatigue (I posted here numerous times about Brain Tumors (all kinds) and Fatigue) and the key to combating it is... diet, exercise and a good night's sleep!

Hang tough!

Thanks for the update.  Although you've had a few 'speedbumps', you seem to be moving forward quite well - and your doctor agrees.  You really are winning!

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
