Ear Pain..

Has anywone had sharp pain shooting in the ear where you had an AN removed?

How long are you post-op?  This should subside as you recover.

had my surgery 12/2001.

These sharp pains started a few weeks ago...  weird huh?

Please consider other non AN related conditions that could also be the source of the problem. TMJ will also cause the sharp pains that you mention and is worth a look into.  Please consult your doctor and dentist.  If TMJ there are things that you can try that will reduce the pain.

Hi
  I have had the 'ice pick' like pains off and on for years. Two ENTs told me they were neurological in nature and there was nothing they could do. The pain actually comes from the eardrum which is totally unrelated to the AN but it may be a sympathetic response.
  If your pain feels external and is quick and jabbing, then relents, I would suspect the same report. Maybe see a Neurologist to make sure?
