Ipod Headsets for SSD
« on: July 23, 2009, 04:04:06 pm »
I love, love, love my ipod and ever since my surgery I only put one earbud in but you don't get the full range of sound that way. Does anyone have a suggestion  as to where I can find a one sided earbud for my ipod?

Radio Shack has a mono ear bud.  Also this thread gives some links, suggestions:  http://anausa.org/forum/index.php?topic=9826.msg112102#msg112102

Hi epc1970,
I bought a stereo to mono adapter from radioshack last year and was not happy with it. It only cost about 3 bucks so I should have known it was going to work well.

Lisa -

I'm sorry to hear you didn't like the mono plug you got from Radio Shack.  I've had mine for over 2 years now and haven't had any issues with it.

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

I learned recently when purchasing a single-bud device for my Blackberry that there are different types.  Some plugs have two rings on them, some have three.  The 2-ring plugs didn't work, yet at least some of the 3-ring plugs did.  I'd keep trying and return whatever doesn't work - or even ask if you can try it before you buy it.  I now have both "channels" of the stereo mixed in one ear when I use my Blackberry for listening to music.

I tried 2 Radio Shacks here and 1 in Houston and none of them had anything like what I wanted.  I ordered some earphones that "JoeBlogs" mentioned that her friends got her.  I have only used it a time or two since i haven't been able to go to the gym this summer so I can't really tell you how it works...I had just used regular headphones for so long, I may just be used to the sound on one side!
