SF ANA support Group Interest
« on: November 12, 2009, 11:24:11 pm »
I posted this question as part of my CK update last week, but it occurred to me that it was probably not seen by everyone since it was radiosurgery related, so I wanted to give it a separate thread.

I wanted to see if there was an interest in forming an ANA patient support group from those on this forum living in the SF bay area. There are apparently over 125 ANA members in the area, but no group currently.

When I met with Dr. Chang at Stanford for my CK follow up he mentioned that he had been approached by ANA about having Stanford sponsor a group. As we discussed it, while it would be a patient driven entity, Stanford would possibly provide a meeting space at the hospital , admin support so all phone calls would go to Stanford and provide access to clinical guest speakers on occasion which would cover the gambit from treatment options to dealing with post treatment issues.

I told Dr. Chang that I would solicit what level of interest existed and help get the group started. If you have an interest , please send me a personal message and any preferences for what days work best. In the old CK patient support group, we met Saturday mornings every other month because weekday evenings can be a challenge for a lot of folks, but I would like to see if there are any preferences

I'd be there toot-sweet :) if I was in the SF area.... trying to get back out there to visit our office in SJC (and to FINALLY meet you, matti and the gang).  That is terrific that Stanford has been approached on this and will look for the updates to see if this kicks off! Thanks Mark for posting this!  BTW.... MAJOR congrats on your 8-yr CK follow up!  Dancing CK robot is doing a dance in your honor! ;)
