2nd good looking pic of baha surgery site
« on: October 30, 2009, 02:58:49 pm »

[img][/img]

Nurse said it looks great and should be closed over in roughly two weeks...We figured out a problem with the dressing...seems that the prisma needs to be wet after it is applied for it to turn to gel and it has silver in it for healing....Soooo now when I see the visiting nurse, I will inform her to wet down the prisma....I am so relieved that the site looks awesome
JO ;D
Cant seem to get pic to open ....does anyone else see it???

Jo ~

Sorry, no image appears - but thanks for the update and congratulations on getting this problem sorted out.

Addendum:  Jo - Your later attempt to post the image apparently worked - and it does look better.  Thanks for making the effort to update us with text and photo.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

I can see the picture, and the site does look better. Hope it continues to improve even more.

I see it!
Much better, I might add.
I know exactly what you had on your head. We call it silver alginate, in home care. It normally goes over wounds with lots of drainage, and infection. The drainage turns the gauzy stuff to gel.
Looks like it did the trick though!

Donnalynn
It was a piece of prisma...it is suppose to turn to gel with drainage of the wound...but my wound had no drainage so it hardened up...now I have to make sure when the dressing is changed and more prisma is added that saline solution should be added as wll
