Hey ya'all
Yesterday I went in for my (almost one month post-op) appointment. Neuro-otologist said I was a "miracle baby"! My balance is, on a 1-10 scale, an 8, I have no headaches, very slight facial weakness (only my hair-dresser knows for sure), some of the weird little side effects, eye waters, etc. I'm, of course, deaf on the right side, but I, basically, was before surgery so I've already adjusted to it pretty well. He has released me and says I won't need another MRI for 5 YEARS!! I'm only supposed to get back to him if I notice any problems. He also said if the Neurosurgeon (I see him next week) concurs, then I can fire up the Land Yacht and get back on the road whenever I want. ROAD TRIP! This has been such a positive experience for me so far, with none of the complications that I anticipated, that I'm not real sure how to react. To those who have not been so lucky, "Please don't hate me!" I do know there will be a big party this weekend. (After all its mother's day) and DW Carol has to be wined and dined so we will make it big celebration for her and me. I'm a rat about stealing her thunder but she loves me regardless...never have figured out why, almost 40 years now, but I digress.
So next week see the other doc, and then off to Western Colorado for the summer...now we have to plan an east coast trip to see many of the wonderful folks I've met on this forum. Keep a good sense of humor and shoot for the stars, who knows what will happen, afterall we are the true "American Idols!"
