Cervicogenic Headache

Here's a paper on cervicogenic headache, which is referred head pain that originates in the neck--usually ours is from hyperflexion of the neck during surgery.  It's a little long and has a bit of medspeak, but it sure explains a lot of my own symptoms.  Botox coundown--30 days and counting........!!

Hi deb,
I have had cervigenical dizziness (caused from falling and a neck injury)  along with the AN balance problems.. it was a double whammy. I have been having some physical therapy and chiropractic treatments which has helped with the dizziness. There is a clinic in Boulder, CO that treats only cervigenical conditions. I wish I could go there. I think that alot of people have the dizziness from the extension of the neck or neck injury and think that it is from the AN only. Food for thought.....

Hi Deb,
I just finished reading the article and it seems to define my headache experiences. As you know I received my Botox injections one week ago. Yesterday was the first day I did not have a headache. It may have worked sooner but I fell down in between and sprained my ankle and because of that pain and not sleeping I still had headaches. But I am hoping now that this is a new beginning of headache free days. I will let you know.

I have headaches after neck aches and have tried to and gave up on neuro explaining
this ... he says they are unrelated ... but seeing the stiffness in neck , disk problems and
headaches are all post surgery symptoms I say they are connected and so does my PCP ...
at this point in time I have my dentist and my PCP ...as long as one takes care of my teeth and
the other keeps me in lyrica I will be satisfied
