....... and a Happy Halloween to you!

Our "official" trick-or-treat night was last Thursday (for some dumb reason, they never have it on a week-end night!) and we had a few cute trick-or-treaters ..... less and less each year.  No "tricks" ..... thank goodness.

This was our 1st year in the new neighborhood...it was so great to be in a neighborhood of kids but hardly any Trick or Treaters came to our house - Dave (w/ leg propped up - still recovering from surgery) and our neighbor's husband sat outside and waited but didn't have many.  The wife & I took out the kids in the golf cart - we went all over and found the streets with LOTS of people.  A lot of people left candy on their porches if they were out with their kids.  One lady set up a kind of "scary" place and she would not stop - even though Kendie was in the cart with me HOWLING...all her neighbor's were talking about her...not even a haunted house - just a super scary woman!

Took the girls around our town square ...merchants have candy and police are at each corner to cross everyone ... super safe ... then we went to Walmart and trick or treated through departments ... about 4 pounds of candy each ... that comes out to a pound for each of us when me and Bo take our cut  :D

My nephew plays soccer for NYU and played against Washington University in St. Louis Sunday, so I took my middle daughter and son to go see him play. This was probably our last opportunity to see him since he is a junior and next year will host Wash U in New York. Hmm, maybe I'll need to go after all?

Anyway, by the time we got home most of the trick-or-treating was over. The kids are too old to go and made a basket in advance for our favorite neighborhood munchkin.

This is the first trick or treating with my grandscallywags that I have missed since they were born!  Back problems just wouldn't let me.  They were very sad, because their Nanny Deb is such a nut and makes it waaaay fun, headache or not.  Will have to step it up next year and throw them a cool party!
