For the last couple days this one spot on my incision that won't heal started to drain a tiny bit. Went into the NS office and they suggested a CT and blood work because they expressed 1 drop of pus. Before doing that, though, they called the plastic surgery wound doctor to take a look and he said I had a suture abscess. Apparently, a little pocket or sinus develops around a tiny bit of old suture material and then never heals. He said it was not a wound infection. They opened the sinus up, cleaned it out and told me to wash it and put polysporin on it twice a day. Today a little pus pocket developed above the orginal area so I cleaned that out. I had a very low temp (99.2) and felt hot, so was worried, but I am otherwise okay. They didn't put me on antibiotics.\
Has anyone else ever experienced a suture abscess?
