this happened, is it related to AN?
« on: July 17, 2006, 10:20:51 am »
Three years ago I was hospitalized because I had horrible, unstoppable pain that went down either the right side, or left (mostly the left) of my face. IT felt like someone was tearing my face apart from inside, my eyes wouldn't work, and all I could do was get into a warm shower and hope the water would ease the pain, I literally was up sometimes all night trying to cope with it. Laying down was impossible, it felt as if my skull was one fire.
is this a symptom of AN?
I was released after like 10 days of tests that showed nothing, now I come up with a neuroma.

Geez, I was getting those about once a week, then down to once every two weeks with medication, now hopefully never again with LOTS of medication.  My diagnosis was cluster headaches--can't lay down and very agitated.  Headaches like this are usually triggered by the occipital and/or trigeminal nerves, which aren't near where an AN usually is. Were any of your tests an MRI? What size is your AN, Mousiez?  You can but your particulars in the "signature" box if you go to "profile" and "modify profile."

It is possible - but the face nerves are divided left/right sides
- there are two nerves  and in different places
The AN maybe near, or on, one of them - but that does not
explain the other side. If it was the one AN causing both
it would have to be the size of a baseball (?)
So might depend a bit how big/and location of the tumour
Best regards
