Moved my MRI up 6 weeks
« on: March 14, 2012, 07:05:11 pm »
Saw the audiologist Tuesday with the intention of just having my hearing aids adjusted.  But when I started telling her about my sudden hearing loss she gave me another hearing test which showed that my word compression has dropped from 84% to 72% in about 4 months.  :(  She brought the ENT in who promptly told me I needed surgery and minced no words in the explanation.  Needless to say, this turned me into a basket case; I was useless for the remainder of Tuesday.

So moved my MRI up to two weeks from today.  At least by doing this maybe there will be an explanation of what's going on.  It does concern me since this is the second "big drop" (word comprehension) in my hearing capability in my left ear (AN side) in 6 months.

I'm feeling better about his comments although surgery is the LAST thing I would ever do but with some PM from other members I've come to acknowledge the situation.
