Hi Yaya,
The year before I was diagnosed, I woke up one morning feeling somewhat dizzy and off balance. I attributed to sinuses and the dr. I saw at urgent care didn't disagree, so I treated for sinus/ear infection. Nine months later, severe vertigo and noticed loss of hearing and ear fullness. That time I went to ER and because I was also vomiting from vertigo a CT scan was done and nothing was detected. I knew something wasn't right, but again thought I had some sort of severe sinus infection. Sometimes, we just want to go back to normal life and ignore symptoms, I did. Finally saw ENT who requested first MRI. Second MRI this summer showed doubled growth in one year and I decided for translab microsurgery since hearing in my right ear was near zero. Translab was 3 weeks ago today and I am happy to report I am doing well and expected to return to work as soon as balance is good enough to drive and I have a little better stamina. My neurosurgeon said the tumor was pushing against the facial nerve and had thinned it. I had eye twithing before surgery and haven't had any facial weakness (knocking on wood). I had the tinnitus before surgery and still have it now. I don't feel the ear fullness, but my ear is still a little numb. I hope this is helpful to you.
