SoundCure
« on: October 07, 2012, 06:03:13 pm »
I believe I saw this was posted on ANAUSA's facebook.

http://www.soundcure.com/for-patients/our-solution/

After reading some of its studies I would be up for trying it! Anything to try to help the tinnitus. I am starting to think that there might be a connection from my headaches and my tinnitus. They both see to be worse at the same time but it could just be all in my head (pun intended).

I've copied that page to an email and sending to my ENT surgeon to see if we may be able to get them in Australia.

Hope is always only a click away sometimes.
Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the link to the SoundCure site.  I have been following the research on tinnitus treatment through the American Tinnitus Association (ata.org) site also and saw this.  Still watching for proven therapies for people like me who are single side deaf and cannot hear any device dependent on treating my deaf ear tinnitus via hearing, which of course cannot happen.

Let us know what anyone finds out ..... also the cost of said treatment, since it is probably not covered by most insurance plans.

Hi Clarice
From what I read on their website it's a white noise filter that is programmed by your own ENT to help with tinnitus.
You put it beside the bed, under your pillow, or when you have the loudest sounds.
Here in Australia we have a few doctors as well as Psychologists that recommend something similar that is covered by many health care providers.

Hope this helps,

Please see the link below.  My surgeon has reccommended this therapy for me.  It has been discussed here on this site.  I am told this therapy cost $6,000 and some insurance companies will cover about 25 percent.  The opinion on this therapy to help varies.  I believe it has been posted here as a 50-50 chance of helping.
