+4 years, all good
« on: October 19, 2012, 08:40:10 am »
Stopping by to say hi y'all...haven't posted anything in a long while, but still look in here pretty regularly.

I recently had my 4th annual post-op MRI and checkup with Dr. Chang here in Houston. He said that it still needs to be watched as sometimes scar tissue from surgery area can have the same appearance on MRI as a sliver of residual tumor, but since he's sees nothing growing in the area, he says it's looking good still. Will have to do another MRI next year, and if everything still looks good, he'll spread them out 2 to 3 years apart going forward.

I still feel great; biking season is over for me, so now I'm training again for the Houston Marathon, hoping to improve my time from last year's time.

I'd like to again thank all on the forum here for their support for me in the past and just want any newbies to see that I'm one of many success stories on the AN journey.

Prayers for the folks with upcoming treatments and those suffering from any AN related complications.

Take care all,

Patrick

Hi, Patrick ~

Thanks for the update.  I'm delighted to learn that you're doing so well and the latest MRI doesn't indicate any re-growth.  Best of luck in the January Houston Marathon.

Jim

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Thanks for posting such a positive report. It's helpful for those of us who are in our first few months since surgery.
