Plastic surgery/brow lift after AN
« on: September 08, 2013, 10:16:07 pm »
I had an AN removed 10 years ago.  My eye is droopier on the affected side.  I was considering an eye lift but have the concern that I will have chronic constant dry eye. I do not have tears in that eye and a slower blink.
Does anyone have any comments? I believe insurance would cover it.
I am turning 50.
Thanks!

Hi;

   "Comments"? Yes; If the eye lid is not covering part of the iris ( the eye's colored part ), leave all alone. Just my opinion.

I was offered this procedure too.  I have extreme dry eye and have had my eye sewn almost half way now so I think I'd look like a startled rabbit of my eyebrow was raised to the same height as my other one.
From what I was told about the brow lift, it doesn't raise the eye-lid up enough to open up the eye any further.
If you're looking to have it done for cosmetic reasons (and that is a VERY valid reason to have it done IMO) then do talk to your doctors about it in great detail before proceeding.
Good luck and please let us know what you decide?
