Small, Medium, Large ?
« on: November 26, 2013, 01:11:07 am »
Just registered for forum and have question concerning size of husband's neuroma discovered today with MRI.

I know that they are classified small, medium and large based on measurements. They gave me 3 measurements today how can I determine the size with three measurements,  .05cm x .8cm x .34cm?   I am assuming that his is in the "small" stage since all of the measurements are smaller than 1.5cm.  Or am I totally incorrect.?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site. You'll get a lot of support and good information here.

If you convert to inches it's about 1/64 of an inch x about 5/16 of an inch x about 9/64 of an inch.

That's extremely small (assuming you wrote down the figures correctly).

The thing is, what your husband decides to do about it depends on his symptoms.

Hiya Susie!! Sorry you had to find this place, but you'll be glad you did.  There's a great source of info here for all things related to AN.  So yes, your tumor is considered small and you are right...to about 1.5cm. Large is pretty much anything over 3cm.  We've some folks in here that has had 4 to 5cm and a select few even bigger.  Fortunately you've caught yours while small so you do have options.  If you haven't already, please go to the ANA's contact page here:
http://www.anausa.org/index.php/contact-us.  From there you can click on the link for the free information packet. It's got a lot of good things to help you make an informed decision. Please continue to post when you can if you have ANY questions. There's no such thing as a stupid question here! :) Take care and good luck!
