Trans Lab behind me now. Just got home
« on: October 01, 2006, 04:38:35 pm »
Hard to believe it was only Wednesday morning that I went into surgery.  My prior headache situation
is almost non existant.  The tinnitus is better also.  Of course still on my regular medications plus pain meds and steroids.  I have met so many wonderful people here and since I found out of my AN.  I truly feel that you need to talk openly and have others who understand what this is all about.  My husband was with alot of other families waiting on there loved ones and they all shared this bond.  Like we have.

Must follow Drs. orders.  Plenty of rest, no reading or computer for at least a week.  I can'twait to get the stiches out and wash my hair.  Looing forward to sharing my experience.  Donna

Great news Donna!!

I am so very glad surgery is behind you - congrats on being a "Postie".

The washing the hair thing is WONDERFUL......won't be long now.

Best of luck in the weeks to come, Kathy

Congratulations!  At 2 1/2 weeks out, I can say it does get a little better each day (though getting off the narcotics was a big help for me!).  It did take me a good 8-10 scrubbings of the hair to feel like it was my hair again!   ;)  Believe it or not, Head&Shoulders helped a lot to get off the built up crud under there.  I sat in the tub and had someone else scrub my hair for the first week.  I was told it was okay to gently wash my hair even before the stitches came out - you can ask the docs about that, if you want.

Day by day.  And it's good to hear from you, Donna.

Congratulations, Donna! When you feel better, could you please, tell what was the outcome regarding the facial nerve? Did they assess it using the scale after the surgery (I,II,III,etc)? Best of luck!

Congratulations Donna!
It is beginning to seem like the washing the hair was the best part of recovery and I have to say it made me feel a lot better being able to wash my hair aftewards. I wish you the best of luck with everything to come and things can only go up from here.
