Hi everyone,
I've put this question in a few places on the forum, with no responses. I'm really curious if this has been discussed before or not- what things does everyone experience after surgery with their GOOD ear? After my surgery to remove a 3.5cm AN, my right ear is completely deaf, but the left (good) ear is acting up! Since surgery 4 months ago, I have had mild hyperacousis in the good ear, very random bouts of tinnitus (2-3 seconds of ringing, maybe once or twice a week, MRI confirmed there's nothing growing on that side), thumping in my good ear when I wake up in the morning, and a fullness in the good ear. It also tends to 'pop' a lot when I swallow. I know hyperacousis is common, but what about the others? anyone? anyone?
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is this normal? Is it the brains adjustment to only having one ear? I did read somewhere that the new tinnitus in the deaf ear can sometimes cause the brain to misfire and send the sound to the other ear, but I'm not sure that is medically supported
Any comments are appreciated!! Thank you!!
