Ventricular Drain During Surgery?
« on: March 18, 2015, 06:55:19 pm »
Hi all,

I am having surgery in a few weeks and my surgeon told me he thinks he needs to insert a ventricular drain during surgery because the AN is blocking the CSF and it's pooling in one of the ventricles. He didn't seem concerned, just that he might have to do it- treated it like a non issue which i guess is good.

Just wondering if anyone else had this done during surgery? I can't find much info about that on the web or the forum.  It's not a shunt, it's like an external drainage tube I believe.

Thanks for any info!
