ENG Testing?
« on: July 27, 2015, 03:51:21 pm »
Hello everyone.  My E.N.T Doctor has ordered a  E.N.G Test for me. Does this test find out the % loss of the vestibular nerve due to the tumor?  I know that there are possible other components of the test. I had a test in 2012 where they blew warm air in my ears. Before the Doctor found my tumor they thought the crystals were out of ailment in my inner ear. After a day of vestibular  therapy my therapist said it was not the case. Any feed back is always helpful.  Thanks.

Check out the following website for the various components of the ENG testing:

http://www.healthline.com/health/electronystagmography#Overview1

My ENT sent me to have it after I was diagnosed with the tumor which was after I was deaf on the AN side and had the lurches.

I had it done at Arizona State University's hearing department by a Professor and student observer. They looked over my history and couldn't understand why I was sent for the test since it was already known what my balance issues were caused by.

Well, I was already there and the student was cute and the VA was paying for it so I got tested. The tests confirmed what I already knew.

After reading your history I'm not sure why you are getting it done. Did your ENT articulate a reason for referring you for the test?
3/15/18 12mm x 6mm x5mm
9/21/16 12mm x 7mm x 5mm
3/23/15 12mm x 5.5mm x 4mm
3/13/14 12mm x 6mm x 4mm
8/1/13 14mm x 5mm x 4mm (Expected)
1/22/13 12mm x 3mm (Gamma Knife)
10/10/12 11mm x 4mm x 5mm
4/4/12 9mm x 4mm x 3mm (Diagnosis)
