Single Session Stereotactic Radiation Update 3 years
« on: February 20, 2016, 07:09:55 pm »
Treatment will be 3 years ago in April and my latest MRI shows remarkable shrinkage!

Even though I had a recent significant drop in my hearing in my treated ear, the tumor has shrunk from original 18x19mm to 17x8mm !!! At first I thought it was a typo in the radiology report, but the doctor measured it at my visit and it's correct.

I took a leap of faith with the Trilogy SRS treatment because most of the literature supported Gamma Knife or Cyber Knife, but now am so relieved. My decision was based more on trust and a gut feeling about my neurosurgeon.

AN 18x19 mm
3 meningiomas
NF2
AN treated with SRS April 2013
MRI Feb 2016 AN shrunk to 17 x 8 mm :)
Constant tinnitus in AN ear
Severe hearing loss AN ear

Patti,
No pain, but about 6 weeks after treatment my vestibular symptoms got much worse. That lasted a few months and then went away.
Is your pain at the pin sites or inside your head?

Inside my head.  But they are very unpredictable.  And they don't last long.  My hearing is already gone from my first surgery.  so that is not an issue.  I am hoping these are just ordinary headaches that I worry too much about.  Your success is an inspiration!  Patti

Patti -

I am pretty new here and I have only read a handful of your posts, but they are always positive and supportive of everyone else.  Based on your signature you have been through a lot; I would say you are the inspiration.  Thank you!
