Spontaneous and Constant Unilateral Tinnitus
« on: February 20, 2018, 01:25:12 pm »
I'm 13 months post-resection for a tentorial meningioma. Seven months after resection I developed severe, constant and very high-pitched (10k?) unilateral tinnitus. Over the last 10 months I've had two full-head MRIs and a dynamic CT, but I'm having a ear canal/temporal bone  MRI this weekend to rule out an AN. My neurologist is concerned about NF2, as my cousin also has a meningioma. Audiogram didn't detect any serious hearing loss, but I know I have ~5 - 10db loss in affected ear around 10k-12k.

My question is: was constant tinnitus among your first symptoms? My onset was spontaneous, like someone throwing a switch. I leapt to my feet in horror, it was so intense and sudden. It has never once diminished or abated in the last seven months. I'm also slightly dizzy, but have been prior to my meningioma diagnosis and resection.

Thanks for your perspective.
