I have posted a few times but thought I would outline my experience for others.
I was diagnosed last Nov. when I had an MRI for another reason and the AN was found. 27x22x16 mm located on the brain stem.
My only symptom was slight hearing loss and ear ringing.
I after meeting with my primary care, first saw a neuro surgeon who confirmed the AN and recommended cyberknife. This surgeon does both Cyber and Gamma so I felt his decision was not guided by special interest.
Then saw the rad oncologist who went over the procedure pros and cons chances of success possible problems ect. For two months I worried about whether to watch and wait or go forward. I finally got tired of thinking about it and decided to go forward.
Because of the AN location they decided to go with three sessions. So last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I had the Cyber Knife. I had a minor headache after day one and two. They warned me about fatigue after the last session. They were correct, but I managed to go to work everyday last week.
This Saturday I finally felt normal and with no side effects.
The procedure was done and Multicare in Tacoma Washington by Dr. Singh. I would recommend both
