Today’s the day
« on: February 26, 2019, 01:25:20 pm »
I can’t thank everyone on this site enough for everything I’ve learned since I was first diagnosed. After much consideration of my symptoms I had decided it was the right time to have surgery. I’m at UCSD & I know I’m in the best hands here. I’m having a middle fossa approach. I’ve been told to expect to feel worse before I feel better. I’ll push through some more vertigo & balance issues to be better in the end. I’m looking forward to a better quality of life!

how are you recovering from your surgery?
1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)
