Hi I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp for over a year now. It started at the same time when I first got AN symptoms (hearing loss and tinnitus).
My AN was only diagnosed few months ago and I haven't decided which treatment option to go with.

Does anyone have seborrheic dermatitis prior to getting treated with either radiosurgery or open surgery, and how does it impact your scalp afterwards?

From what I read, radiation can make your skin drier so I expect my scalp would get worse after radiation.

And my scalp is most scaly at the back of my head exactly where the incision will be if I go for open surgery. I cannot imagine what would happen if have a wound on that side because I have been relying on dandruff shampoo and topical corticosteroid to keep it at bay.

Concerns about radiosurgery and open surgery can have a major impact on body parts and those with seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp, especially regarding skin dryness and wound healing after surgery.

I think the radiation may make your seborrheic dermatitis worse. I think the focus should be on regulating the balance of excess oil on the skin.
