I'm new here and I've not been diagnosed, I have an MRI with contrast booked for next Tuesday. Not looking for you to diagnose as I know the symptoms could be many things but I wanted to check if anyone had similar symptoms to me prior to diagnosis.
I'm 49 (m) and I've had hearing loss for years, it's in both ears but significantly worse in my left. I have also experienced a blocked feeling in my left ear frequently, sometimes lasting days, I always thought it was water in my ear and it eventually cleared.
In the last few months I've started experiencing a drooling sensation from the left side of my mouth, almost never any drool there though. I also have a patch on my left cheek that feels numb/tight. These all come and go. My left eyelid also seems to be drooping as does the corner of my mouth
A few times when I have been shopping I got dizzy spells, kind of hard to explain what they felt like, although one time I looked at a poster and it looked like it was moving. I also get headaches frequently and occasionally migraines.
All this led me to a GP, who referred me to a neurologist. She did a load of tests and confirmed I wasn't imagining it. She has requested an MRI to check for Acoustic Neuroma.
Since that appointment three weeks ago my dizzy spells have increased to several times a day, especially when bending or moving my head suddenly. The numbness also seems to be happening for longer periods and more frequently. I am not sure if the worsening symptoms are stress related as I wait for the MRI though.
I have a couple of other symptoms - tremor, eye watering etc but these don't bother me and I have already created a big post.
Do these sound familiar?
