I too am at the beginning stages of diagnosis- I am 44 with a 2X2X2 CM.  I was lucky in that my ENT had a neurotoligist in his practice who does nothing but tumor removal.  Having said that the surgeon (neurotoligist) recommended both surgery to debulk my tumor and then gamma knife to kill the rest of the bugger off- as he did not want to impact my facial nerves.  I would do a TON of research. I am getting two separate opinions at a minimum and then I will figure out if I need more research or not ( I just got on this website today).  The more I read the more options become available or at least I want to be able to ask a surgeon and be told why it's not applicable in my case.  Good luck and keep us updated on your progress!
