Advice on Gamma Knife centers in San Diego

Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed with a 2.8x2.6x1.8cm AN 2 weeks ago.  After a fair amount of research, I'm 90% decided on Gamma Knife. 

I would be grateful to hear any advice on treatment options in the San Diego or Southern California areas?

I just replied you in your other post.

There is a great GK Center in San Diego.  www.sdgkc.com
Additionally there is a CK Center in San Diego. www.sdcyberknife.com

Check them out as they are both very reputable.  Since I live in San Diego also, I almost went with them but decided on Stanford given my tumor condition and personal preference.

Don't worry, you absolutely do not have to travel outside of San Diego for radio-treatment.  We are lucky, we have treatment venues right at our doorstep!!

Since I am in your neighborhood, please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.  There are a few of us ANers locally.  There are some treated by GK, some CK, some surgery.

One more thing, I don't think having radio-treatment will make microsurgery in a re-growth scenario more diffiult if it is in the hands of an experienced surgeon.  The challenge is to find a doctor who can provide unbiased recommendation in the best interest of the patient.

I was diagnosed about 6 mos ago with a very small 2.6mm AN.  I'm with Dr. O'Leary and Dr. Sanjay Gosch at Alvarodo Medical Centers.
I've been advised by Dr. Gosch to go with GammaKnife and I am also leaning in that direction.

Of course you can find info on both sides for any of the treatments available.  Bottom line is it's up to you. 

I also sent my scans up to House Clinic in LA for a free consultation.  Which I received from a Dr. Delacruz.  He recommended middle fossa surgery because he felt
my tumor was so small that they could easily deal with it.

I like the idea of leaving my head closed the way God made it but we'll see.
