« on: August 09, 2007, 07:49:03 am »
Every now and then my scar takes to itching--and I feel I could re-open it from the scratwching!  Anyone have a good remedy forthis other than acrylic nails??  Thanks!

I was told vitamin e works but for some reason you may want to check with your Dr who performed your sugery. I recall there are other suitable choices. But unfortunately = can't remember....

I use Mederma scar treatment ( over the counter)...my doctor approved it for my use... the doctor
said the itch can come from inside healing which this won't help , but sometimes is triggered by
the scar stretching ... this keeps it soft and more pliable and less itchy... he also said benedryl cream
might help ....my scalp is still too sore for scratching

Thank you all so much--I agree it might be from the skin stretching--the top of my ear feels pulled...but my head looks straight!
