Husband diagnosed with AN are hearing aids an option?

Helllo,

New to this site and to husband's recent diagnosis.   We have met 2 Dr's and have their opinions.
No one mentions hearing aids and did not think to ask.  Does anyone know if hearing aids are possible?
He has lost most of hearing in 1 ear and told this AN is on balance nerve or we think that is the 8th nerve.

Would love to hear from anyone who can shed some light on this topic.  Husband is still in pre-treatment
option stage and is very confused.

I am doing a great deal of research on AN and just starting to review all these different topics.

There are options for single sided deafness - two different bone conduction aids (BAHA and TransEar) worn on one side to pick up sound and transferring sound to the good cochlea via the bone of the skull.  Also there are a couple of air conduction aids that work by picking up the sound on the deaf side and transmitting the sound to the good ear canal wirelessly (called CROS aids).  A surgeon can talk about the BAHA implant well before the surgery.
