Relationship of MD and NF2
« on: March 14, 2007, 04:41:47 pm »
Is there a relationship between muscular dystraphy and NF2?  Seems like in reading posts, some are diagnosed with MD before NF or have family members with MD.

I don't really understand MD, but thought I would float this question out there......

I am an NF2 and I have never heard a link between MD and NF2. However there can be nerve damage from tumors growing on the spine or any part of the body such as feet-hands etc. I have numbness of both feet. Orthopedic Doctor told me this is from my nerves firing slower than normal. So by the time they get too my feet-the nerve impulse has lost some of it's punch. It can spread but unlikely. They have attributed this too NF2-not too MD>- Ron
