I would be careful about "self diagnosing" NF2. There have been plenty of twenty to thirty-somethings on this forum with a plain vanilla AN. I think NF2 often shows up earlier, in fact, and also that by the time one side has a 3 cm AN, the other side would be showing something. I don't know that for sure, but if experts have reviewed your MRI and not seen signs of NF2, I wouldn't worry about it until they do.
I don't think you will find many that have had a 3+ cm AN treated with radiation, although a few have already posted. The debulk surgery + radiation that Tony mentioned has also been done by several people here with apparently good results.
It is not an easy call, so be sure to get some expert opinions on what is feasible and what the outcomes might be. I hope you can find the right treatment for you.
