Facial Help: upcoming presentation in the Pacific Northwest
« on: October 30, 2008, 10:24:08 am »
I have decided to post this under both "Facial Issues" and in "AN community" in hopes to reach as many people as I can.

Up until now there was NOT a Neuro Muscular Facial Tetraining Therapist (NMFT) available to us in the Pacific Northwest. Through various people on this forum, the “facial issuesâ€? section specifically  :) , I was able to connect with Jackie Diels of the University of Wisconsin … and was about to fly to Wisconsin for help with my synkinesis based on their recommendations… Jackie mentioned that she had graduated a therapist, from her university program, who is set up in San Diego. I contacted this new therapist, Wanda Crook, and by chance she was booked to fly to Portland on family matters. I made arrangements to meet her in the Portland area- while she was here. I introduced her to my ophthalmologist, who prescribed my eye weight, …and a team was formed between the two of them. ;D

It is in the works that OHSU is setting up a clinic for her to work with the Casey Eye Institute. They will be bringing her in at various time intervals to work with other patients (besides me) who need help with facial issues related to Bell’s Palsy and Acoustic Neuromas (or Facial Neuromas for that matter).

Being an ANA (great organization BTW  ;D ) "new" support group co-leader I took the opportunity to get them to present to our group. Seattle does not have a support group, at the moment, so people in that region, who are members, should also receive a flyer in the mail. I sincerely hope that some of you can join us... and know that you do not have to be an ANA member to come to the presentation.

If you live in Washington State or Oregon (or anywhere in the Pacific Northwest) and would like to attend this presentation- know you are most welcome to come. Below are the details.
