sam's surgery went well!
« on: February 05, 2009, 04:09:13 pm »
hello everyone

I am sam's daughter, she asked that i keep you all updated on her surgery and progress.  The surgery was an absolute success!  The doctors were able to remove the entire tumor without any complications.  I was able to see her about 3 hours afterward and she seems to be doing very well.  She was able to talk in between sleep, she was experiencing some pain but that was to be expected.  All in all everything went very well and i would just like to thank you for all your support throughout the last year.  It has been a great help to her and and i would just like to thank you all from the bottom of  my heart!

Daniell:

Thanks so much for taking the time to update us on your mom's AN surgery outcome.  I'm delighted to learn of her good news!  Please tell her we're rooting for her and she's now an official 'Postie'.  I hope she'll rest as much as possible, be home soon and have a smooth recovery.  :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Yea!  Congratulations on a successful surgery outcome!  Like steve likes to say, the first 3 days don't count..  Now begins the healing part of the journey which may be slow and tedious at times.  Patience, patience, patience..  That goes for the one who had surgery as well as the caregivers.  You all will be in our thought and here for questions as they come.  Welcome Sam to "Postieland" for us!  Thanks for the update!

Regards,
Brian
