The scarf is here and we are looking forward to it working it's magic this coming week.  Tomorrow looks to be a very hectic day all around.  Ken for a full day at work and other craziness going on at the apartment.  The idea of surgery seemed so far away two months ago when he was first diagnosed, but now we are 1 day and counting.

 Thanks for the heads up about the digestive issues.  For other medical reasons, this is a big issue and has been discussed with the doctor who assured us that the issue could be managed.   

Tomorrow I am going to get the bag ready for the hospital and try to figure out what my daughter and I should bring for the stay in the waiting room.  The hospital was very cold on Friday, so I am planning on some layers and maybe a fleece throw.  To top it off, I threw my back yesterday putting together some bookcases, so have been on light duty today.

Best wishes to Ken for the surgery on Tuesday. Check in tomorrow before you go; you should be in the weekly round up, with lots of well wishes. We will be waiting to hear from you afterwards.

Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.

I baked muffins and handed them out to the surgical team as they wheeled me down the hallway.  I told them that if they promised to do a good job in surgery...I'd give them a muffin.  Other surgical teams were extremely jealous.  My anesthesiologist thought it was the greatest.

The day got off to an early start.  We reported to the hospital at 5:30 for the admitting procedure.  Our daughter and I accompanied Ken through the initial medical admitting procedure with visits from various doctors, residents and other staff.  He walked off to the next step at about 7:30.  His surgeon encouraged us, my daughter and I, to go home and check in at about 1pm to see how the surgery is going. He thinks that this waiting room is pretty dismal and I agree!   Ken wanted us to stay at the hospital and my heart tells me to stay.  Neither of us got much rest last night and I know that this will be a long day.   

I very much appreciate your thoughts and prayers and will report back when I know more.

Prayers today for a successful and quick surgery.
The surgery will be a thing of the past before you know it ;)
