Brainporting Week 3
« on: August 01, 2009, 04:30:59 pm »
I just finished week three as a BrainPort lab rat and not much new to report.  I'm finding that I'm becoming more comfortable with the 20 minute exercise, but when I get out on the street, I still have the wonky-headed good days and the staggering bad days.  I'm not sure what to make of it.  It is an eight week study so I still have a way to go.

As a reminder, if you didn't notice my post from last week about this, the BrainPort  folks are still looking for more test subjects.  There are 250 testers now and they need more for FDA approval.  My PT said she would be glad to introduce anyone interested into the program.  In last week's post I posted the requirements.  I'm going to post it under AN Community this week as well.

Have a grand week.

David ~

Thanks for the update.  Even though there isn't a dramatic breakthrough - yet - at least you're becoming comfortable doing the exercises.  I guess only time will answer the question as to whether this program is useful for you.  Meanwhile, keep plugging and of course, we all wish you much success.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

David,
I really admire you!!  I am keeping you in my prayers that this is the answer to your balance and "wonky" headedness!  Good luck and get plenty of rest between "takes".  Had to add a little "show biz" there!!
Hugs,

I just learned something new on this.  If you put a word in that is a definite typo, say instead of typing two "d's" you type two "s's" you can modify it before you really make a fool of yourself!! ::)

After 6 weeks of BrainPorting, it's still status quo.  Good days; bad days.  I have two more weeks to go in the study -- I hope to find out more when I meet with my PT then.

Hi David, I'm hoping your good days are at least starting to outnumber your bad days. And then that the bad days are fewer and further between.

Take care and I'll keep praying for you.
